Cookies are the focus of the effective operation of the Internet, helping to create a pleasant browsing experience, customized according to the preferences and interests of each user. Prohibiting or disabling cookies may lead to the impossibility of using certain sites.
Prohibiting or disabling cookies does not mean that you will not receive online advertising – but only that it will no longer be possible to track your preferences and interests resulting from your browsing behavior.
Examples of important uses of cookies (for which it is not
necessary to authenticate a user through an account): (i) personalized offers according to the interests of users – password retention, language preferences (for example, displaying search results in Romanian);
(ii) providing advertising that is more relevant to the user;
(iii) metering, optimization and analytical features – such as confirming a certain level of traffic on a website, what type of content is viewed and how a user reaches a website (examples – through search engines, directly from other websites, etc.)
Websites run these usage analytics to improve the sites for the benefit of users.
You can control and manage cookies in different ways. You can configure your browser to accept or reject all or certain cookies.
If you accept the use of all cookies, it allows you to use all functions of the website without restrictions, but please note that removing or blocking cookies may have a negative impact on your user experience and certain parts of our website may no longer be fully accessible. If you block the use of all cookies, first-party and third-party cookies will be disabled, but Calipso cannot delete third-party cookies. To delete third-party cookies, you can access your browser settings.
Even if users disable one or more analytical cookies, it is still possible to use information collected by these cookies before disabling them, but we will cease to use disabled cookies to continue to collect information.
The User has the possibility to set the device’s browser options so that these cookies are no longer accepted or the browser can be set to accept cookies from a particular site.
The settings that offer the possibility of disabling /deleting cookies are usually found in the “options” or in the “preferences” menu of the user device’s browser. Specifically, in order to modify the cookie options of the website, the user can access the “Options” or “Preferences” menu of the browser.
For details on the options available in your browser and how to configure the browser according to your options, please visit the “Help” menu and another dedicated section of your internet browser. For

For security reasons, the data transferred between the web server and the browser is SSL encrypted and therefore Calipso has implemented specific measures to protect your personal data stored in cookies.
Cookies are installed through the request issued by a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.) and are completely passive – they do not include software, viruses, spyware and cannot access the information stored on the user’s hard drive. Cookies are not made up of code snippets, so they cannot be executed nor can they self-run.
However, cookies can be used for negative purposes. Since they store information about your preferences and users’ browsing history, both on a particular site and on several other sites, cookies can be used as a form of Spyware.
Taking into account that through cookies information is constantly transmitted between the browser and the website, in both ways, if an unauthorized person intercepts the data flow, the information stored in the cookies can be intercepted. Although these are rare situations, this can happen in the event that the browser connects to the server through an unencrypted network (for example, an unsecured WiFi connection).
Other attacks in which cookies are used involve incorrect cookie settings on servers. If a website does not require that the browser use only encrypted channels, unauthorized persons may use this vulnerability to mislead the browser so as to send information through unsecured channels. This information is then used by unauthorized persons to access various websites.
It is important to be careful when choosing the best method of protecting your personal data.
In general, browsers have integrated privacy settings, which ensure different levels of cookie acceptance, validity and automatic deletion after a user visits a particular site.
We offer you some tips that can help you manage
cookies effortlessly: (i) Customize your browser’s cookie settings to reflect a comfortable level of cookie security;
(ii) If you share access to the computer with another person, you can consider setting the browser so that individual browsing data is deleted each time you close the browser. This is a way to access sites that place cookies and delete any information about visitors when you close your browsing session;
(iii) Constantly install and update your anti-spyware applications;
(iv) Many of the applications intended to identify and prevent spyware include identifying attacks on websites. This prevents the browser from accessing websites that could exploit browser vulnerabilities or download dangerous software;
(v) Make sure your browser is always up to date. Many of the attacks based on cookies are carried out by exploiting the weaknesses of older versions of browsers.
